About NMN
ABOUT NMN
I describe NMN as the “Creatine of Cardio”. Creatine provides energy metabolism for short burst anaerobic intensity. NMN provides energy metabolism for sustained aerobic activity.
NMN is sourced in our diet through many common vegetables. As we reach middle age, and regardless of diet, our NMN levels diminish to somewhere around half of our youth. Supplemental NMN is growing in popularity worldwide for middle aged people for its purported energy and health benefits.
NMN is fundamental to cellular energy and is seen as significant contributor to many health benefits. Research is ongoing into these wide ranging potential benefits. You will note that NMN has been banned by the FDA for sale as a supplement in order to protect the investment Pharmaceutical Companies are making in its research. Note! It has not been banned regarding safety but commercial reasons. It is not banned in NZ.

“Improves Muscle Function
We rely on our skeletal muscles for movement, stability, and strength. As we age, our muscles lose their ability to regenerate and grow, leading to the age-related decline in muscle strength and size called sarcopenia. Along with muscle weakness, we also become more fatigued and have less physical endurance. NMN seems to reverse these conditions, as one of its transporters has been shown to increase strength and physical endurance in mice. Furthermore, NMN improves muscle strength and performance in older men, and enhances oxygen utilization and exercise endurance in middle-aged runners.”
Under proper disclosure, there are videos and studies which question the efficacy & claims of NMN. The general conclusion is more research needed, and anecdotal responses in the comments section are often of users positive experiences.
No supplement ever replaces proper diet and good exercise. Supplementing is for what we need but lack, and for the middle aged exercise enthusiast, NMN is in that category.
